This page is intended to provide a clear idea as to where JNTU Anantapur  is geographically located and how to reach it.

JNTU Anantapur is located  10 Kms from Railway Station and 8 Kms from Bus Station . You can reach to our college either from Railway station or Bus Station through local transport.



 

To Reach JNTUA:

1. From Tirupati:
The distance between Tirupati and Anantapur, is almost 295 km. It takes almost six hours, to reach Anantapur by road. One just needs to follow the NH 205 for most of the time. The road is very good, except for the first few kilometres from Tirupati to Madanapalle; but after Madanapalle, the roads are some of the best in the country. The route is as follows: Tirupati - Madanapalle - Kadiri - Anantapur.

  • By Bus: Take a bus from Tirupati to Anantapur, which takes around 6 hours. Anantapur bus station is located at a distance of around 9 km from the city centre and can be reached by bus, auto-rickshaw or cab. Travelling by bus is economical and recommended for individual travellers and youngsters.

2. From Kurnool:

Anantapur is located at a distance of 147 km from Kurnool. The largest district in Andhra Pradesh, Anantapur is well-connected to Kurnool by roadways and railways. However, the best way to reach Anantapur from Kurnool is by cab, a journey of about 3 hours. The important areas covered on the route from Kurnool to Anantapur are Kurnool - 60 km-> Devarabanda - 19 km -> Pothidoddi - 15 km -> Gooty - 12 km -> Miduthuru - 41 km-> Rudrampeta - 3 km -> Anantapur.

  • By Bus:

  • Take a direct bus from Kurnool to Anantapur, which takes 3 hours. The bus stand is situated at a distance of about 3 km from the city centre and can be reached by taking a bus, auto or a cycle rickshaw. Buses are cheap and ideal for individual travellers and backpackers.

  • By Train:

  • Take a direct train from Kurnool to Anantapur, which takes about 3 hours. The Anantapur railway station is situated at a distance of 3 km from the city centre that can be covered by taking a bus or an auto.

3. From Chennai:

Anantapur is located at a distance of around 421 km from Chennai. It served as an important site for the British Indian Army during the 2nd World War and is well-connected to Chennai by roadways and railways. However, the best way to reach Anantapur from Chennai is by bus, a journey of around 7 hours. The places covered between Chennai to Anantapur are Chennai – 16 km -> Tiruvottiyur - 27 km-> Palavakkam – 7 km -> Tirupathi – 126 km -> Thiruvallam – 161 km -> Vepurikota – 50 km -> Kadiri – 76 km -> Mannila – 20 km -> Anantapur.
Travel Options:

 

  • By Bus: Take a direct bus from Chennai to Anantapur, which takes around 7 hours. The Anantapur bus stand is situated at Dharmavaram which is located around 42 km from the city centre and can be reached by taking buses, auto rickshaws and taxis. Ideal for individual travellers and backpackers.

  • By Train: Take a direct train from Chennai to Anantapur that takes about 10 hours. The Anantapur railway station is located at a distance of around 2 km from the city centre and can be reached by hiring taxis and autos.


Reaching college from Railway Station or Bus station:

You need to get down at Anantapur railway station or Bus Station.
You can take an auto from railway station or bus staition directly to the Institute.
The fare is Rs. 30/- per auto(for 4 in an auto).
If you are alone, the auto guy should charge you just not more than Rs. 10/-
